Phase II Curriculum which consists of three (3) courses, Academic Supervision, and 3-Hours Supervised Practicum is required for all students enrolled in the N.C.C.A. License and Degrees Program. The following courses are to be taken in fulfillment of the N.C.C.A. Phase II requirement: (1) Mastering Pastoral Counseling, (2) Counseling the Codependent, and (3) Temperament Case Studies. You may choose to take these courses online or offline by having the texts shipped to you. The online training program is recommended (especially for our international students). All students are to take exams online. Upon successful completion of the Phase II coursework and practicum, you will receive N.C.C.A. Credentials in accordance with your specific eligibility.
The National Christian Counselors Association (N.C.C.A.) Program is not a state license and, in fact, is distinctly different.
PHASE II COURSES:
Mastering Pastoral Counseling
This course utilizes the N.C.C.A. counseling model, the Arno Profile System (a/k/a Authors: Rev, John W. Luton, MA, Richard Arno, PhD Phyllis Arno, PhD). You will learn specific information regarding stress, anger and guilt with the emphasis on the need to develop family relationships. Course Requirements:
- Approximately 36 hours: textbook approx 225 pages
- Time to complete: approx 14 weeks (4 months)
- One final exam: Online (proctored if offline)
Counseling the Codependent: A Christian Perspective Using Temperament
This course, authored by Dr. Jean M. LaCour, includes a textbook and accompanying workbook. Students will receive specialized training regarding codependency. The training incorporates the counseling model taught by the N.C.C.A. Course requirements:
- Approximately 35 hours: textbook approx 160 pages
- Time to complete: approx 12 weeks (4 months)
- One final exam: Online (proctored if offline)
Temperament Case Studies
This course, compiled by Phyllis J. Arno, provides students with sample case studies utilizing the counseling model used by the N.C.C.A. members and graduates. These case studies utilize the counseling model taught by the N.C.C.A. and also incorporate other testing instruments. As a student, you are required to conduct a series of in-depth counseling sessions with one ‘counselee’ or ‘client’. Using one of the formats described in the course, you will complete a comprehensive report of those sessions. Course Requirements:
- Approximately 35 hours: textbook approx 154 pages
- Time to complete: approx 12 weeks (4 months)
- Submit one case study, to the Clinical Supervisor, following the format taught (no exam)

The cost of the program is very affordable. The tuition for each Phase II course is just $299. Fees are remitted separately.
