Faith-based temperament theory is based on understanding the inborn nature that God created in the realm of the spirit and soul of mankind. We glean from scripture that God created humanity with a persona manifested through temperament (inborn/innate), personality (learned/self-selected), and character (developed).  Genetics play a role in one’s temperament and influences why we do what we do.  Personality influences how we do what we do.  Character is related to a person’s moral, ethical, and spiritual qualities and influences what we do.  Learning more, through this training, will equip you to be more competent in helping others through soul care ministries and professional faith-based services.

Creation Therapy is recommended for pastors and other ministers, lay counselors, pastoral counselors, coaches, mental health professionals, human resources professionals, medical doctors, attorneys, educators, and others who can use this knowledge to help individuals spiritually and emotionally.  Membership in the Sarasota Academy of Christian Counselors (SACC), upon completion of the course, in order to be authorized to administer the APS. 

No, the SCMi Institute offers Creation Therapy via an independent study model.  You may start your training at any time, study at your own pace, and get certified within six (6) months.  We offer up to three (3) hours of elective Academic Supervision under the direction of Dr. Linda Hunt King who is also an NCCA Board Certified Clinical Supervisor & Diplomate.  Academic Supervision is not required, for Creation Therapy, but is highly recommended. 

Academic Supervision is similar to having a guidance counselor in grade school or a student advisor in college. The SCMi Institute typically provides Academic Supervision via scheduled phone sessions, brief spot calls, and email.  Academic Supervision does not include pastoral counseling, case supervision, or clinical supervision.  Academic Supervision is strictly for educational and informational purposes only.   

Soul Care Ministries International (SCMi) has been successfully utilizing the Creation Therapy Model and the Arno Profile System (APS) for near 25 years.  Our founder, Dr. Linda Hunt King, has been an International Representative (IR), Certified Pastoral Member and Academic Supervisor, and Instructor since 2005.  We are blessed to have trained many and empowered some as IR’s and instructors of this amazing course of study!

You will gain practical experience with administering the Arno Profile System (APS) and utilizing the APS Personal Report during the required Creation Therapy Practicum.  The practicum consists of administering the APS to 10 individuals.  Upon successful completion of this training, you will be authorized to administer and utilize the APS in your faith-based endeavors!

The tuition and fees for Creation Therapy is very affordable.  Depending on which option a student chooses, it will cost $825 to $900.  This amount includes coursework, academic supervision, 10 Personal APS Reports required for your practicum, and the fees for your Sarasota Academy of Christian Counselors (SACC) membership application and first year dues.  You can begin with just $300 and pay as you go or take advantage of the value-added pre-payment bonuses offered exclusively by Soul Care Ministries International (SCMi)!
